Brief History
The Station on Main Street is located in what was originally built as a general merchandise store in 1919 and grew to become the Kurfees & Ward Pure Oil gas station. The business was purchased by the Boger family of Mocksville, and was operated as the Boger Service Station until the late 1990's, at which time it became the home of The Woodworks Gallery operated by Glenn and Linda Mace. The Station on Main Street opened on November 19, 2005 with the main section of the building hosting the gift shop and used book store. The service bay area, with very little modification so as to retain the character of the building, was converted to an art gallery which opened in April, 2006. Working closely with Historic Downtown Mocksville and the Davie County Arts Council, we are striving to make Downtown Mocksville a destination for the arts!
